The University of Hyderabad is a Public University that was established by an Act of Parliament in 1974. It was awarded the status of “Institution of Eminence” by the Government of India in 2019. It has on its rolls 5500 plus students and 420 plus faculty. The University offers multiple programmes including Integrated Master’s Programs (5 years) in Sciences and Social Sciences, 2-year Master’s Programs in various disciplines, and Ph.D. programs through 12 Schools of studies.

The Inter University Centre for Teacher Education (IUCTE), BHU, Varanasi is an Autonomous Institution established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 12 (ccc). Its core mission is to promote excellence in Teacher Education through intervention in Curriculum, Pedagogy, Assessment, Governance, Policy, Planning and Research. IUCTE envisions cultivating quality educators who contribute to a sustainable ecosystem, thus reshaping the Education System in India. IUCTE strives for enhancingteaching quality, research, technology integration, advisory services, collaborations, and policy advancements, focusing on education and teacher training.
About MMTTC, UOH
The Malviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC) at the University of Hyderabad (UOH) traces its origins to 1987, when the UGC established 66 Academic Staff Colleges to enhance quality in Higher Education. To further knowledge enhancement, governance strategies, and the promotion of innovation and creativity, the XII Plan guidelines proposed transforming these Academic Staff Colleges into Human Resource Development Centres (HRDCs). Subsequently, the UGC renamed the HRDC as the Malviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC).

Established in 2018, the department offers Ph.D., and M.Ed. programs, integrating key aspects of Educational Studies, including knowledge production, teacher preparation, and teacher education, to enhance quality education. Its focus areas include curriculum and pedagogical studies, teacher education, and educational technology.
